The most expensive neighborhoods in Barcelona

Barcelona is a city with a lot of charm. While visiting the Catalan capital, you will have the pleasure of admiring the architecture of the buildings, discovering the richness of the museums and letting yourself be impregnated by the local atmosphere, specific to Catalonia. After a few days, you might even want to settle down. However, you should know that this privilege comes at a price and some neighborhoods are far from being cheap.  To give you an idea, Maonlof takes a look at the most expensive neighborhoods in Barcelona, follow us!

Sarrià-Sant Gervasi

Sarrià-Sant Gervasi is located in the north of the city. It is a district set back from the hustle and bustle of the city and has many green spaces, including a park named after the area and viewpoints that provide a breathtaking view of the city. It is very popular with Barcelonans precisely because it is safe from tourists. The prices for buying and renting are therefore higher than in the rest of the city. There are many small specialty stores, restaurants, tapas bars and the CosmoCaixa science museum. Again, the rates are not the cheapest in the Catalan capital. But if you’re looking for a quieter neighborhood with plenty of attractions and your budget allows, choose Sarrià-Sant Gervasi!

Les Corts

Located in the northwest of the city, the Les Corts district is very well known because it is home to the Camp Nou, FC Barcelona’s headquarters. It also includes a business district and a very chic residential area with wealthy residents. A central square in the neighborhood is Plaça Francesc Macià where you can do some luxury shopping. The most famous luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Rolex or Hermès are located here. Housing prices are about the same as in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, which is also nearby. And don’t be fooled, the nightlife in this neighborhood is still active, with some great restaurants and bars.

Eixample

The Eixample is a well-known district of the Catalan capital. Probably the most chic of Barcelona. Its most famous street is Passeig de Gracià. Here you can admire the most beautiful buildings of Catalan postmodern architecture, such as Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. The most beautiful luxury stores are located here. We dream of living in this colorful neighborhood, the result of a succession of architectural wonders. Needless to say, it is also the most expensive district in Barcelona. Its many bars and restaurants are no exception. They are luxurious and expensive but it is still worth it to go there.
